Cisco Catalyst 2900

The Catalyst 2900 series switch is a mid-level enterprise switch. The switch also includes bandwidth optimization, management, and VLAN capabilities but includes more configuration options and greater backplane capabilities.

The lab has the following 1900 switches:

(3) 2924 - 24 port 10/100 Mbps ethernet switch.

Cisco Catalyst 3500

The Catalyst 3500 series switch is a mid-level enterprise switch but provides greater levels of scalability and premium performance. The switch includes Gigabit capabilities.

The lab has the following 3500 switches:

(2) 3524 - 24 port 10/100 Mbps ethernet switch with gigabit uplinks.

Avaya Cajun P120

The Cajun P120 is a 24 10/100 Mbps standalone Ethernet workgroup switch. The switch includes VLAN tagging and priority use in support of the IP600 VoIP Switch.

Foundry Networks ServerIron

The ServerIron family of switches are Internet traffic and content management switches. They provide intelligent load balancing of caches to eliminate content duplication, increase cache-hit ratios, and improve response time.

Cisco Catalyst 5000

The Catalyst 5000 switch is a high-level enterprise switch offering high-speed trunking technologies typically found at the core of the network infrastructure. The switches include capabilities for dynamic VLANs, media-rate performance, and scalable convergence of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching.

The lab has the following 5000 switches:

(3) 5000 - 12 port 10/100 Mbps ethernet with fast ethernet uplinks.

Cisco Catalyst 5500

The Catalyst 5500 switch is a high-level enterprise switch focused on the needs of high performance wiring closets. The 5500 switch is well suited for enterprise backbones. The switches include the similar capabilities found in the 5000 series switch but includes increased backplane capacity to support up to 528 user ports

The lab has the following 5500 switches:

(1) 5500 - 24 port 10/100 Mbps ethernet ports and a route switch processor for Layer 3 swithching.
