Smart Room

The Multimedia room is the Interdisciplinary Telecommunication Department's smart media room. The room includes full Internet access and the ability to present digital media using an LCD projector or analog video using TV/VCR. The room includes 4 high speed PC computers and 5 Sun Ultra 10 workstations.

Presentations

The room is used for any event requiring the use of media. This includes, lectures, presentations, thesis defense, and presentations encoded for digital streaming.

Video Streaming

Students have the ability to watch course lectures over the web. The course is delivered as a full screen image at 30 frames per second. The resolution is comparable to a VCR tape.

Simulations

The Sun Ultra workstations are used for research and simulations of wireless cell coverage and satellite signal coverage.
