The
Telecommunication Systems Laboratory is the research and applied
arm of the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program
(ITP). The laboratory provides instruction in the latest telecommunication
technologies, offers a facility for student and faculty research,
serves as a focus for partnership with industry, and supports
department activities in both on-campus and distance learning.
The
laboratory has the capacity to simulate large telephony and
data networks. The current capabilities include VoIP, PBXs,
ATM, Frame Relay, DSL, ISDN, as well as more advanced routing
and switching technologies such as MPLS and VLANs.
